The following day I called again - this time I reached a person. I was advised I had a tax debt to the State of Indiana from 2007, 2008 and 2012. Isn't there a statue of limitations? Don't you need to advise me?
Not to mention I live in Florida now. The representative asked me how much was on hold and where I banked. Assuming they already knew I gave the information. The representative told me the only way she could release the hold was if I paid in full by credit card.
I tried to reason with the representative and explain the hardship - that coincidentally my lights were cut off and I was already experiencing financial hardship after the death of my mother. Can I make payments? No. Regardless, that you have taken every dime I own.
The other day I went to the gas station to fill up a loaner while my car was repaired.Much to my surprise my card was denied.
Another customer told me there's was also so I assumed it was the gas station and went down the street. The same thing happed but this time I decided to call my bank because I was in a rough area. Much to my surprise I was told my account had a hold and given a toll free number to call! I called eight times and only reached voicemail - finally I left a message.
Went to bank to withdraw $, was told balance too low. These THIEVES had cleaned out 2 thou. Have not worked in IN since 1988 and ALWAYS paid my taxes. Some years didn't even file return cause figured they needed it more than me. Recieved no advance notice from either DOR or these crooks. How can DOR not be aware of this illegal activity? I was IN PRISON in MI from 1990 to 2016! How can I owe almost $1900. &*€#@%=÷&?# these people AND the State of INDIANA.
No notice, no proof of a debt but they send a wage garnishment letter to my employer. Luckily I have an attorney to deal with this mess. This is unethical and illegal. They still haven't provided proof. This agency needs to be shut down. You can't bully, threaten or force money out of people.
Not one letter or notice and they put hold on account. First off took 7 calls to talk with someone. Scare tactic to make you make payment arrangements that you cannot afford. I am not sure if it's Chase Bank or them, but after agreement the payment was placed against my account for more then twice the agreed amount. Hold is still on my account and I can't even get to work because I cannot buy gas. Thank goodness I do not have to feed children cause I don't have access to a dime of my money. Hopefully my boss is understanding and I don't lose my job.
Surely, this can not be legal! To imagine the State of Indiana allows malicious collection activities at the discretion of Premiere Credit!
Robbed!
Horrible liars and thieves. No one answers the phone, say money is owed that is not, bills are paid but never updated. This is a perfect example of our government in action. No rules, they just steal with no due process or notification whatsoever.
I hung up the phone and called my bank as well as the State to no avail. While I spoke to the bank, I pulled up my bank account and noticed a debit for $1200. While I was asking for an arrangement the representative processed a debit!
