It was great. The hayride is just a straw ride lol, you sit on a wagon floor covered in straw. You don't go in a pen of goats, you can pet them while feeding them. There is no baby goat experience. The feeding is $1 for a cone of feed, $3 for a cup of carrots, $5for a deluxe bowl of feed and vegetables with a treat in the bowl. They have good pumpkins,. 39c a pound. I won't lie the pumpkins are cheaper at Walmart, but the experience was great. The exotic birds and animals were not as advertised. You can go in and see parakeets for $1 but they won't come to you without the $2 bird seed stick. With the stick they swarmed us so that was neat. The exotic animals were smelly (I'm a country girl and they were smelly for me) and in small spaces. There were several I had never heard of, it was cool to see that.
We went to Watermans in October and one of the best places to go for a pumpkin patch, hayride or corn maze experience! There are lots of fun booths, a petting farm, and harvest time activities for all ages.
In conclusion it was a great experience, worth going to see. I think they should throw in a pumpkin with the entry fee though. Oh, the pony rides were $5, we had more fun on the Fort Benjamin Harrison Stables Pony rides. They were $3 and the parents get to lead the pony there. (just FYI)
Our family went to Waterman's Family Farm and best part of it all was the knocker balls the blue big round balls. The staff was super friendly and very active, it was cheap and the kids had an awesome time. Everything else was overpriced.
The kids and I love watermans and the people there. It is an awesome experience when you forgot your actually still in the city of indianapolis. We have never had an issue out of 20 plus years going. It’s amazing to say that my mom took me as kid. And now my mom is going with me and my kids. I have seen so reviews stating the pricing. And I would like to put my two cents on this subject. Over the past years since I was born prices have gone up every year on just about everything. From candy to gas to your daily life cost of living. Does everyone remember when gas was 45 cents a gallon. I know I do. Watermans has an overhead budget that they have to meet to be able to run next to so we can have another wonderful family experience.the cost for them to stay open every year goes up and the price reflects on us. I’m looking forward to when my kids are inviting me and their grandma to go with their kids to the pumpkin patch.
One of the oldest produce farms in Indiana. Great simple festivities for the family. Bounce house, corn maze, feed farm animals, hay stack maze, food tents, budgie cord bounces, gyro sphere. Good food, friendly people. All during October. Get our pumpkins here every year for ten years. Great place for traditions.
