All in all, it's an enjoyable theatre experience although those viewers who demand only the latest and best might be disappointed.
A few years ago, this theatre competed directly with the bigger chains. However, with Dolby+++, wider screens and recliner lounges available today, the theatre no longer targets most first run customers. However, Cinemark competes very favorably on price, friendliness and a good selection of films that are in their second showing. Then, there are a great number of Bollywood films available for those who appreciate Indian culture.
We go every week . I love the popcorn and drink refill and the price for these is a little less than other movie cinemas. I think that the price you pay for the movie offsets all of this. My husband and I can go on a date night for around $20.00. Great prices for families and they have a variety of movies (usually something for all ages). It is a little dated, but, still fun !
We wanted to see a movie while we were in Greenwood this afternoon but we didn't want to spend a lot of money so we went and saw Boss Baby at Movies 8. It cost $2.50 a piece to get in so that was great. The concessions are full price but we were more willing to pay since the box office was so cheap. The popcorn was very good and the Diet Coke was also very good from the fountain. The only thing we didn't like was the outdated theatre. I an so used to stadium seating now that it is very weird to see anything that isn't like that. We will go back to Movies 8 the next time we want to see a movie in the Greenwood area.
I like the theatre quite a lot. There are films that just don't do well on a television screen, even if that screen is 50"+. In addition, there are a number of films that I won't pay $12 to see at a first run theatre that I will see at Cinemark because of price.
Theatre maintenance is not good .. no recliners.. poor video and audio quality.. Please remodel this theatre.
The manager is on a power trip...Mr. Franklin..would not let my 21 year old daughter take my 14 year old to see an R rated movie. He stated the law was 25...that he was cracking down on it..I looked up what the law was, and it stated 21. He then stated that personally he would not let his kids watch an R rated movie..really? How unprofessional and rude! I told him that is his preference. He made up his own rules and he lost our business for sure..they went to a different theatre, and had no problem! I will be contacting his boss about this.
