They are the worse school. When my daughter went she use to get cused out by teacher for nothing and on top of that they put their hands on my daughter.
Horrible school never take your kids here. They do not care about the children
Our son loved going to this school, until this year. He is bullied by the students and now the staff. Anytime I report an incident, (which is almost weekly because it's that bad there) I get a little meeting with attitude and then nothing is done. Last year our son was denied a bathroom break 3 times, and the result was he was sent home in a diaper and last year 3 teachers lost their jobs. But this year he was diagnosed with diabetes. He's a straight A student and yes has missed school because of his diabetes. The head nurse has now taken it upon herself to call Riley and DCS any time he misses even when the appointment is at Riley. Her reasoning for this is because she was on her laptop while another student used our sons lancet to check his own sugar, so because we as parents have a major problem with letting the students share supplies & are unsupervised we get hit with this. Now our son's safety has been at stake several times while at school and we have No Choice but to continue to make him go to this school because it's to late to enroll him in a different school. As parents please do not let your young children attend this school with the older kids, the staff doesn't care that they pick on and physically put their hands on your child. This school gets an F rating and I will never enroll our son at Emma Donnan again.
Relocated to the South-side from the Northwest side and was told by Southport Middle admin that my son school district is Emma D. Got to Emma D registered my kids and was told they DONT offer transportation to my address BUT the school is right down the road.How Sway !! Southport Middle and Emma D are giving me a HARD time trying to register my kid, by pointing fingers at which school is which. TOTAL CHAOS ! ! Bad review for both schools!
If you care about your child's safety and well being do not send them to this school. Middle school kids are allowed to physically and mentally abuse the younger grade school kids. The nurses are completely incompetent. The nurse was allowing diabetic kids to share the same needle because she was too busy on her laptop to pay attention. We reported the incident and not only was she allowed to keep her job, now everytime my son misses a day for obvious medical reasons she calls Riley and DCS trying to report us as unfit. This is not a good school and especially not for any kind of students with special needs. Don't let the young smiling faces fool you. If your child has an accident in their pants because of the staff not allowing the child to go to the restroom they are verbally embarrassed and put in a diaper to finish the day. Please don't let your child be bullied by these hoodlums.
