Uncrowded at lunchtime. Staff has limited English, but tried hard. Goat curry excellent. Noodles so-so. Will come back and try other dishes. Plenty of food, inexpensive.
They have a lot of stuff but its disorganized and people doesn't feel like helping customer.
I regularly take out of- and in- town friends to this restaurant when they visit me on the south side (and ask me if there's any culture in this part of town). The food is delicious and you really do get a lot of food for the money at this joint. Burmese food, for those who don't know, tastes a bit like a fusion of Indian and Southeast Asian. It's quite spicy and can involve rather 'exotic' ingredients relative to the American palate, but for more conservative tastes, this particular restaurant also has blander Chinese-style dishes available. My personal 'try it' dish suggestions are their goat curry (goat meat in spicy curry stew), Chin special fried rice (this one's adventurous - it's got anchovies, so don't freak out at that, it's still amazingly tasty!), and samosas (which they make in Indian style). A friend of mine with blander tastes told me that he really enjoyed the Cantonese-style fried noodles they offer. On top of all that, the wait staff is super friendly and very, should I say, 'Hoosier-like', catering to most of your wishes without any problem, and the service overall is better than the American fare restaurants that surround the block.
Fabulous people and great food wonderful feeling you get being around good folk
