A great park for mostly quiet hikes, jogging, biking, and family picnics. The shelters and playgrounds are excellent for groups small and large for outdoor get-togethers. They have great kid day-camps during the summer. There is a beach on the lake and a marine as well, but I don't have any experience with them as of yet.
Favorite place to come and unwind with my family. We always have a good time sight seeing and enjoying nature. Perfect place to come when you live in a city. It's a sweet getaway.
Great park fairly close to Indianapolis. Lots of well-kept hiking and walking trails, benches, playgrounds. Ornithology center is a neat place to visit, plus offers a good chance to see nesting bald eagles. Lots of birds keep the park lively.
Great place for a road or trail run! The marked road runs are 5, 8, and 10K. Sime reasonable hills on all of them. Running around the reservoir is always nice.
Great place to grill, fish and hike. More than one playground on the property as well. Very inexpensive to enter.
If there's a criticism, it's that the north and east trails are close to freeways. The noise disrupts the nature experience and makes it hard to truly escape. Go west and south to get further away from the bustle.
