Porter is by far my favorite coffeeshop in Indianapolis. Their attention to detail and creative literary theme is spot on. And their products are fresh and locally sourced from Indiana. Their fresh coffee roasted in house is delicious and their service is always phenomenal and personable. And of course their fresh-baked goods are fantastic, especially their scones!
Industrial, warm interior with eclectic decor and art for sale. Good coffee and food. Used books, loads of James Patterson. $10 for a used JP book and $4 and $6 for used, older print general pbacks seemed a little on the high side. I read the reviews of friendly service, so maybe today was an off day. Though the couple kissed a few times, to the customers, the entire staff seemed generally dismissive, disinterested and disengaged. Will visit again as it is a lovely atmosphere with good food and locally owned, I'll just prepare myself to feel as though we are being a bother to the staff.
I came at an apparent busy time but found easily a place to sit :D. Loved the atmosphere and I'm thankful for the friendly staff!
The food is amazing. The setting is great. I love the decor and book collection. The art is also delightful.
Lots of books to borrow for a nice sip of the good coffee.
Best place in the city for breakfast or lunch in my opinion. You can tell they take the quality of food very serious. They go above and beyond to make sure everything is fresh and locally sourced. They roast there own coffee on site. How cool is that?! I'm not one to buy restaurant t-shirt but they have an awesome selection with very unique designs.
