This was a pre-sale experience. I'm horrified to think what the experience of dishing out money and allowing this company to be responsible for my belongings would look like. I had a much better, customer-centric experience with an competitor and will be using them on my long-haul move.
My customer service experience was so terrible with this company that I did not use them to move. I set up an appointment for one day. The surveyor arrived the day before, and called since I wasn't home. I was able to arrange for my neighbor to go meet him at my house. Although several emails were exchanged about items in the upstairs and basement not being moved, they were included in the estimate. Not to mention that if I wanted my items to arrive on a specific day and not anytime within a 10 day window, I would have to pay hundreds of dollars more.
