9/5/17, I called the clinic soon after it opened and explained that Ebony was not eating, drinking, or moving around much. She was alternating between throwing up dark brown liquid and pooping blood. The Vet told me that she was prescribing her two more meds to help with the diarrhea and to increase her appetite. Still no conversation or concern about the bloody poop. I decided not to pick up the medicine and to take Ebony to her Vet back home in Alabama.
9/7/17, (2:00pm) I took Ebony to her Vet in Alabama. (2:15pm), the clinic drew some blood. (2:40pm), the Vet told me that Ebony was very sick. Ebony's kidneys had completely shut down and she was bleeding in her stomach. My baby had been in a lot of pain for days and days. She had not eaten a morsel of food in days and she had stopped drinking water.
We recently had our dogs stay here while we were on vacation. It was very sweet that they had their names on a welcome board when we arrived. The dogs also got a much needed bath. When we picked them up, they were happy and healthy.
Staff was personable and veterinarian was attentive to pet owner's concerns.
8/31/17, Ebony had gotten progressively worse. She started throwing up, she stopped eating and drinking, PLUS, she had started bleeding with her stool. I took her back to this clinic and she saw a different Vet. I explained her symptoms to him and he suggested that the other medicine had upset her GI tract and asked me discontinue the dosage until after her stomach had healed. He prescribed her some medicine that was supposed to coat her stomach. The first dosage was a shot and the other dosage was a box with 4 pills in it. I asked him if he was going to test her poop for answers and he said no.
Since Ebony has stopped eating and drinking, I had to dissolve the pill in liquid and administer it with a syringe in her mouth. Her symptoms worsened still but the clinic was closed over the holiday weekend and on Labor Day.
If I could give VCA a zero rating, I would. I spent over $200.00 for them to do nothing for her but make her sicker.
Money hungry and ready to get you to spend money on things other than what the problem is. Came in for parasite problem and they wanted to do work on everything but then when they started to do a skin scrape which was $114 and I refused then they told me I owed for an unhelpful exam that I didn't even know I was being charged until I refused service. Who charges for exams when you already know what the problem is? F- is your grade
8/28/17, I took my dog Ebony to this clinic because she was experiencing pain in her abdomen area. I explained Ebony's symptoms to the Vet and because she had been previously diagnosed with Cushing's disease, the Vet assumed her pain was caused by osteoarthritis and being overweight. The Vet prescribed her some pricey medicine for the pain.
Staff was very knowledgeable, personable, and caring. I would recommend this clinic to anyone.
I have been overwrought with anguish and grief since then. I am back in Indianapolis without Ebony. I can't even get her ashes until the 19th.
(3:45pm) my baby was put down and out of her misery. I am devastated and angry that she has not been treated properly prior to this date.
