I am so upset and this office is more than unprofessional. I called in December to schedule an appointment with a lady receptionist who made an appointment for me for January 15th (we all know if takes a month to get in with a specialist no matter what amount of pain you are in). I did as I was told to call my existing office with the fax number she gave me to send my records over and told the lady I was going to be getting new insurance and she told me to call back with my insurance info so that they could get any authorizations prior to my appointment. So, on January 15th I call to confirm my insurance info and tell them that I know I do not need any pre-authorizations and will be there later this afternoon for my appointment. I get on the phone with a gentleman or not so gentle man who proceeds to tell me that I cancelled my appointment 2 days after I made it??? What??? I tell him that I am sorry but there must have been a mistake. I have Crohn's Disease and have been having a flare up for the past month looking forward to this appointment so that I could hopefully schedule a Remicade treatment to feel better and I know as a fact that I did not cancel it. He argues with me and tells me that he is the one who made my appointment and cancelled it two days later. I told him that I very clearly recall speaking with a lady and I did not cancel the appointment. He continues arguing with me. I finally even though I was extremely upset about his need to be correct and deny me even the consideration that there could have been a mix up, I calmly said fine, now I need you to please help me get a new appointment as soon as possible because I am one foot out the door of the ER to get an emergency Colonoscopy and Remicade. He tells me the soonest he can get me in is another month away. ----I recommend if you choose schedule appointments with this office and be seen here that you are very careful and document when and who you made your appointment with. Also call back on a weekly basis perhaps to ensure they do not cancel your reservation and tell you that you have no idea what you do or remember in your life when you really know you DID NOT CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT! They are not very accommodating, respectful or empathetic to your medical needs either which is the main reason that I was reaching out to Dr. Clarke for an appointment in the first place. If Dr. Clarke reads this I hope you see how your office administrative staff are in "helping" patients in need and pain. This was a gentleman working in the office as administrative/scheduler on 1/15/15 at 2:00pm.
I have been nothing but satisfied with this doctor and his office. The wait can be long, but once back with staff I understand why... They take time to talk to you and understand FULLY what is going on. I would recommend!!!
I would recommend Dr. Clarke to anyone. He is very caring & listens. I really like Sue, his nurse, I give her credit for me quitting smoking. I've had so many digestive issues and Dr. Clarke and his staff has worked with me both with tests, procedures, medication and consultations. I read on here that someone said how rude Dr. Clarke was, I can't even imagine that. He is the kindest doctor I have ever been too.
No compassion by management at this office! Unfortunately, circumstances beyond my control and very last minute, I was unable to make two new patient appointments and was told this morning that I needed to take my mom somewhere else when I called in to reschedule. For both appointments, I called within an hour after my appointment time, apologized and stated the reason for my missed appointments. This office is supposed to support the health of the general public, today they showed me their bedside manner and thank goodness they did so before they actually saw my mom. Be careful with this practice, they definitely are not about the patient and all about the money. They don't want an open time slot no matter what the reason.
Dr Clarke was extremely rude to not just myself but my family and even an ER doctor who I had to see the following day. He was annoyed with questions and such poor bedside manner I won't even return for test results.
