My personal experience with Sarah is that she allows me the amount of space I need to ramble on or vent when needed, but helps guide my thinking and poses questions and ideas that I wouldn't otherwise come to on my own. For me, that approach has opened my thinking up far more than any other experience I've had, and allowed me a deeper sense of ownership of the progress I've made. With her efforts I continue to get tools and take steps to change behaviors for the long-term that will allow me to recover and be healthy. She has suggested reading for my personal time, given me physical tools and information which has helped me make serious changes in my behavior that literally will help save my life long-term! Sarah has been life-changing, and I can never express how deeply touched by her dedication I am and will continue to be.
Not only has Sarah been amazing at her job, she truly cares about her patients. The entire practice is full of people who genuinely invest their time and energy to making life better and helping others become a better version of themselves.
I sincerely apologize that you felt that therapy was not meeting your needs. I tell every one of my clients at the beginning of the therapy process that therapy is a unique and collaborative experience. I encourage all clients to discuss any issues with me so that they can be corrected immediately. Therapy is also only successful if there is initially a positive relationship between therapist and client. I’m sorry that we did not mesh, and I hope that you find a therapist that is a good match.
I've known Sarah Trueblood for years and have nothing but good things to say!! Good listener, dedicated to her profession and very helpful! Highly Recommend!
I met with Sarah Trueblood and she is a joke. She is the least helpful therapist and just sits there and doesn't offer any help. Literally the only thing she says it, "Well, why can't you just let it go/not be upset/etc." I don't know, Sarah, why can't you do your job and help people who are having issues? She is such a fraud. Save your money and go someplace else.
The ideal resource. I've loved my experience
After 20+ years ignoring the eating disorder that was causing me so much harm, I decided to get help. I found N.M.H. via my insurance and Google searches for a therapist who specialized in anxiety and eating disorders. After emailing with Kate Fisch to establish my needs, she strongly recommended I try Sarah, and said that if I didn't feel we connected or wasn't happy I could switch to another counselor. She made sure I understood that not every therapist fits ever person and that was okay, but also fixable.
I think in reading the anonymous post by another person that it is important to state that not every therapist is a perfect fit for every person, and it is up to the individual to recognize that if they don't feel that connection or if they feel there is an issue they should be reaching out to the owner of the practice to find resolution. I understand that therapy is a personal matter, but even so, hiding behind anonymity to post what can only be labelled as false and unfounded statements meant to do harm is cowardly and immature. There are better methods to find resolution, and anyone who truly wants an honest opinion about a true experience with this business should NOT consider that person's opinion objective or honest.
