I am absolutely upset with the assistance the government helps with. It's like you have to be a wortless bum to get help. I got denied food stamps because mt fiance witch is my youngest daughters dad income counts as mine even though we are not married. He happen to be over The income limit by 70 dollars, so they took them after they approved them. 70 dollars a month can not feed 5 people! And it's not fair to my two other children that are suffering because of this outrages law! I have replied after him switching jobs and us moving to a different county they have sent me in circles! They request something we turn it in. Then i get another letter stating i need to turn something else. Mean while my family and iare living off of little to no food! I am very hurt at the fact that it such a terrible process for me a a parent to get tbe help i need. The agents and the case workers are very rude! Something needs to change.

Canceled our benefits on an expedited case because we didn't send in any more documentation. I cant send in documentation if I never received a letter stating more was needed than what a case worker that I sat down with said was needed. Call them and spoke to a supervisor and get told "not my problem we sent it" so I have to reapply and wait 30 days for benefits! Meanwhile I have little to no food to feed my family! I'm a firm believer of only using benefits when you truly need it and that is what we have always done but this is nuts!!!! To loose benefits after you turned in everything simply because you didn't get a letter stating that you needed more info is nuts!

Patience is a virtue. When asking for assistance you just need to humbly wait. Be resourceful in the meantime. Go to food pantries, sell stuff you don't need, etc.

If I didn't have assistance I'd be screwed. Thank you to the state and the employees who have to deal with all of these unhappy people.

Sure I've had some annoyances with sending in the same paperwork again and again. Just be thorough, keep a folder of everything you send in so when you talk to someone you have references of what you sent in and when. They stamp everything you send in. If you fax just make sure to print the confirmation that it was sent. It will have a date on it.

What dumb comments. Many people on food stamps have jobs. Usually if they are not working they are disabled. I've found this program to be very helpful when I have gone through hard times- and even during those times I was working.

When you get your assistance be grateful.

All of the employees are rude and think they can talk to you any kind of way just because you are on benefits. They give to those who don't work and do nothing all day instead of helping those that have several bills to pay this place is a damn joke ?
