Had lunch there with all of my staff. The food and the service was incredibly good. We ordered a variety of food and everyone absolutely loved what they got. It was so nice that the chef came out and talked to us. I highly recommend this restaurant. A real treat!!
While on trips I enjoy finding hidden gem restaurants, and this place definitely qualifies. The area is a bit rough, and the decor isn't amazing, but just wait for the food. I went with a group, so I got to try a bit of everything. Their signature item is chicken and waffles, but the waffle is made of red velvet cake drizzled in cream cheese frosting. I'm not huge on sweet things, but it was pretty good. Rib tips were also tasty, but for me it was all about the fried chicken. Crispy, salty, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. Might be the best I've ever had. Anytime I find myself going to Indianapolis from now on, this place is on the to-do list.
The smoked meatloaf was unlike anything I've ever tasted in my life! If you are unsure what to order, I promise you can't go wrong with this option!

We were looking for a savory Sunday dinner and found it here! The rosemary chicken was flavored to the bone and tender as a mother's love. My two sides were dressing and mashed potatoes. The taste was great though I prefer whipped, my husband enjoys the lumps. The dressing reminded me of my favorite uncle with lots of sage, onion and black pepper. I would have liked a chicken gravy over my potatoes & dressing though I imagine the brown gravy is perfect over the smothered pork chops. I will order that on my next visit. My husband had the brisket, green beans and bourbon corn. He was exceptionally pleased with everything. He particularly appreciates the fact that they used smoked turkey in the green beans, as he doesn't eat pork. We took the peach cobbler and sweet potato cheesecake home for dessert. Though not big on dessert, the pecan crust on the cheesecake was very nice. My husband thoroughly enjoyed both desserts. We met the owners who are very nice and seem committed to high quality. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. This was our first visit but not our last!
You can taste the love. The collards were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Hot, creamy, flavorful corn that was still crisp, that takes talent. Now that brisket was the best I ever had. It was so juicy and flavorful absolutely no need for sauce. Everything was so flavorful I didn't even reach for the salt or pepper. The staff was great and the place just has that home feel. I'm in luv! Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.
I wanted to treat a few of my friends and family to some soul food yesterday and decided to try this place. WOW! We were all very impressed. All of the great reviews really hyped up our expectations and boy oh boy, they were not only met but exceeded!
